January 2003 brought some of the coldest temperatures in a long time to the Chicago area, and the pond responded by freezing
over dramatically. Because I leave the waterfall on year-round to oxygenate the fish, the interaction of water splashing
on the rocks with the single-digit temperatures had some interesting results...
But Spring came at last, and the pond and it's surroundings came back to life, and Fiona prowled around looking for baby
wildlife...
